Independent, accountable and in business since 1998
IAP has been in business since 1998. We started as a co-operative, and were incorporated as IAP UK Ltd in 2005.
We set up IAP to offer a more personal IT service. Building on years of IT experience in local government, the civil service and large organisations, we wanted customers to deal directly with the people doing the work. That means clear decisions, quicker answers and a focus on what we care about: good service, and getting the job done properly.
Still co-operative at heart
We’re no longer formally a co-operative, but we still work like one. Everyone is involved in decisions and knows how the business is doing, and we’re proud to remain members of Co-operatives UK, the network for Britain’s co-operative businesses.
We try to live by co-operative values: openness, honesty, social responsibility and caring for others. It is possible for a business to be dynamic and technology-driven and still have the warmth of a co-operative.
Looking after more than your IT
- Longer equipment life: we upgrade and repair where that makes sense, rather than replacing by default.
- Less travel: most support is delivered remotely, so we only drive when a visit is really needed.
- Solar power: solar panels at our premises help reduce our energy use.
- Donate, then recycle: usable kit is wiped and donated. Everything else goes to E-Cycle, a licensed treatment facility with zero waste to landfill.
In the community
When equipment we’ve replaced still has useful life left, we securely wipe it and donate it to local organisations. We also support a variety of local, national and international charities.
